CEDAR PARK MONTESSORI SCHOOL
Cedar
Park Montessori School is the oldest Montessori School in Cedar
Park. Founded in 1997, it is the first Montessori in the surrounding
cities designed and built under the layout concepts specific to
the Montessori Method of Education. For the last 11 years, our school has proudly served families from communities all across Cedar Park, Round Rock, Leander, Georgetown and North Austin.
Our school is a fully Accredited Montessori School. The school is
also a member of the Association Montessori Internationale, the
American Montessori Society, the Montessori School Accreditation
Commission and the North American Montessori Teacher Association.
The teachers and staff at the School are chosen with utmost regard
for specific personal and professional qualities, knowledge and
skills that enable children to experience warm and nurturing relationships
with adults, while facing the world around them with happiness and
confidence.

ACADEMIC PHILOSOPHY
The
basic principle in the Montessori Philosophy of education is that
every child carries within his/her self-potentialities of a person
that he/she can become. The Life Force that is there is hidden in
every young child to develop his/her intellectual, physical and
spiritual powers to the fullest.
The Cedar Park Montessori School is established to assist those
children entrusted to its care to help become that unique human
being ... for the benefit of their own personal development ...
and for the good of the society in which one day they will be involved
with. The goal of the program is to help each child his or her potential
thereby helping the child to develop concentration, self-esteem
and experience the joys of learning.

F.A.Q.
How
far in advance do I need to place my child’s name on the waiting
list? Requirements vary by age. We recommend that you refer to the “Programs
Offered” section for more details. In general however,
we recommend that you contact the school 18 to 24 months prior to
your child’s start date.
What do I need to do to be on the waiting list? Call
the school and schedule an appointment for a tour. After the tour
Admission Applications are available. Each enrollment is treat as
first come first serve basis.
Can I register before the tour to be on the waiting list? No. We believe that it is important to first see the school
and experience the environment to see if this is the right school
and program for your child and your family.
Is the school year round? Yes. We are open year round
for all ages.
When do you enroll children? We place students in our classrooms
throughout the year.
When is the best age to start my child? Between 18
months to 3 years. If your child starts in the Toddler Program (18
months – 3yrs), your child would have a smooth transitioning
to the Primary Class. Or you can enroll your child at the age of
three to start in the Primary Class this will help your child to
have a complete the three year program (which includes the Kindergarten
year).
If my child stays through Kindergarten can he/she be accepted
in first grade the following year? Yes. There is no problem
of enrolling your child in our Elementary Program or at any other
school.
What is the highest grade that I can have my child at CMS? We offer an elementary program 1st grade – 5th grade.
In order for a smooth transition from Primary to the Elementary
Program, we recommend that children have experienced the Primary
Class before coming to the elementary program or have experience
in another Elementary Montessori Program.
Is it hard for my child to transition to another school
after being in Montessori? Absolutely not, children
continue to do better in the Elementary Montessori Class because
the program smoothly continues to teach what your child has learned
in the Primary Class without having to repeat many subjects. However,
if a child is enrolled in another program, there is no problem.
